Wesleyan University’s Department of Chemistry invites applications for one part-time Visiting Instructor/ Professor of Chemistry for the Fall 2025 semester. The visitor will be the instructor for one section of General Chemistry I (CHEM141). While the curriculum and administration of the course will be managed by full-time faculty, the visitor will be expected to actively and independently engage with the students in their section to facilitate their learning. Although the appointment is part-time, it is expected that frequent communications will be kept with the lead instructor and a nominal amount of office hours will be offered outside of class for student access (virtual meetings are acceptable).
Candidates must have a master’s degree or higher in chemistry or another related field; a Ph.D. is required to be hired at the Visiting Professor level. Special consideration will be given to candidates with previous experience in teaching comparable general chemistry lecture courses.
